What is Computer Engineering?
The Computer Engineering combines the software related development of Computer Science and the hardware related development of Electrical Engineering into a comprehensive course of study. As a Computer Engineer, you work with others to integrate computer software and hardware.
You might think of a robot that assists with recovery during a disaster as something that integrates computers and hardware together. But you’ll also find computer engineering technology in almost every aspect of your life. These systems control everything from small medical devices to your on-line purchases at Amazon. And integrated computer systems are already in the cars and mobile phones that you use every day. Did you also know that social media companies like Facebook and Twitter employ a multitude of computer engineers working behind the scenes to help you keep your “Friends” and “Followers”!
Overall, individuals with an engineering background are in high demand in industry.
