College Based Academic Fees
The College Based Academic Fee (CBF) is a mandatory Cal Poly fee, supported by a vote of the students, which is one portion of the overall registration costs each student pays to enroll at Cal Poly. This quarterly fee is assessed on each student in the College of Engineering to help support and enhance instructional programs in computer engineering.
The Computer Engineering Program provides their CBF allocation in a 50/50 split to the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Departments with 100% of the funding being assigned to faculty salaries/benefits. Updates on college-based fee spending and input from CPE students is facilitated through an annual Student Town Hall Meeting. Student Town Hall is scheduled the third week of February on Tuesday or Thursday.
