All-Inclusive Laser Tag
Advisor: Lynne Slivovsky (CPE) and Kevin Taylor (KINE)
Students: Paul Fallon (CPE), Julia Bozarth (KINE), Zach Mintzer (CPE), Brenna Keane (KINE), Michael Norris (CPE) and James Johnston (CPE).
Students for this year's project were challenged to create something that hadn't existed before: equipment that would allow person with physical limitations play laser tag.
Of course these Cal Poly students answered the call and then-some designing a functional system that operated reliably and looked...well, pretty cool.
"We were so thankful to work with students from the kinesiology department on this," says Fallon. "Brenna and Julia designed the look and feel of the project while our team provided the technical expertise." The LED "brooches" placed on the forehead and chest allow users to point and shoot the laser at the opposing team. The colors of the LED lights can be changed so players know who is on their team (same color) or opposing team (different color).
